You ever feel swallowed in darkness? Like it’s so thick you can feel it in your bones?

I’m a follower of Christ, and I still feel like that sometimes. The key is to keep fighting and not give in to those feelings.

Jesus said, “The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10 NIV)”

Your depression, hopelessness and/or anxiety are not lost on God. He is not ashamed of you. He’s not sitting on His throne, bemoaning your existence. He sent me here to tell you everything will be ok.

Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually. Victory comes to the one who perseveres.

When shadows befall, seek the Light. Don’t accept a sunless day as FACT; use the Word (i.e. the very words) of God to battle the darkness!

“The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day. (Proverbs 4:18 NLT)”

“Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.’ (John 8:12 NIV)”

“For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! (Ephesians 5:8 NLT)”

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. (John 1:5 NLT)”

“This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in Him at all. (1 John 1:5 NLT)”

The tears of today will be our victory cry tomorrow. This river of weeping will carry us to the land of eternal life, where Jesus waits to embrace all who faithfully serve Him.

Remind yourself that Heaven is REAL!

“Let heaven fill your thoughts; don’t spend your time worrying about things down here. (Colossians 3:2 Living Bible)”

Meditating on these words will help install a skylight in your mind, your heart, your SPIRIT, so you can look up and see Heaven. This day shall soon pass, so seek the Lord while He may be found.

Yeah, today might be awful, overwhelming, but this too shall pass, my friend. Tonight may be painful, but the sun will rise again.

“Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. (Psalms 30:5b NLT)”

Dare to rebel against the darkness, and let Heaven fill your thoughts. Let the sun explode through the skylight in your soul, and watch Jesus chase the shadows back into the night.

This is not a one-shot deal, you will have to do this every day. Don’t give up; night will soon be over, and the morning will dawn.

It’s coming, you can believe that.

Blessings. Prayin’ for ya!

Bless you for saying so! I greatly appreciate it. My writing is born from a lot of pain, depression and sadness, but I still never give up hope. No matter how much darkness tries to swallow us, we can never stop reaching for the light.
