The Only True Failure Is Quitting

You’ve had enough, right? You’re on the verge of losing it…like TOTALLY losing your cool, maybe more. Maybe your life.

I’ve been there, believe me. Last year I told my wife, “I think the cheese is slippin’ off my cracker,” which was my weird way of saying I felt like I was losing my mind.

“I’m losin’ it, babe. I can’t take this pain anymore. I’m serious, I can’t.”

But right when I was about to give up, and literally at the point of madness, the Lord gave me a partial healing in my chronic pain. Not a full healing; I still hurt, but not as bad as I used to. Now I can at least walk around the store with my wife and not feel like I need to sit down every 10 minutes.

I can at least go to a theme park with the family without getting a wheelchair. I may have to sit down every hour, and I may have to leave after six or eight hours while the rest of the family stays and has fun, but at least I can go.

Believe me, I know how frustrating it is to have the DESIRE for something but not the ABILITY. Like Dolly sang in the 1980 movie 9 to 5, it’s enough to drive you crazy if you let it.

But you can’t stop now, you’ve come too far! You have to press on. You have to keep going. You may feel like you failed, but the only true failure is when you quit.

Let me say that again:

THE ONLY TRUE FAILURE IS QUITTING

Take the following as inspiration:

“We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We often don’t know what to do, but we don’t give up. (II Corinthians 4:8)”

He helps tired people be strong. He gives power to those without it. Young men get tired and need to rest. Even young boys stumble and fall.  But those who trust in the Lord will become strong again. They will be like eagles that grow new feathers. They will run and not get weak.  They will walk and not get tired. (Isaiah 40:29-31)”

“We must not get tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up. (Galatians 6:9)”

“Come to me all of you who are tired from the heavy burden you have been forced to carry. I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)”

“Remember, I commanded you to be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid, because the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)”

“If they stumble, they will not fall, because the Lord reaches out to steady them. (Psalm 37:24, all verses taken from the Easy-to-Read version of the Bible)”

QUOTES ABOUT NOT QUITTING:

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” ―Nelson Mandela

“There is no failure except in no longer trying.” ―Elbert Hubbard

“You just can’t beat the person who won’t give up.” ―Babe Ruth

“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” ―Dale Carnegie

Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.” ―Harriet Beecher Stowe

“You do what you can for as long as you can, and when you finally can’t, you do the next best thing. You back up but you don’t give up.” ―Chuck Yeager

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” ―Thomas Edison

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” ―Confucius

“Survival can be summed up in three words―never give up. That’s the heart of it really. Just keep trying.” ―Bear Grylls

“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying ‘I will try again tomorrow.‘” – Mary Anne Radmacher, American author and artist

“Fall seven times and stand up eight.” – Japanese Proverb

Never give up…

Never give in…

Never surrender.

That is the whole of the law, in my book.

Blessings, my friend.
