The Malevolent & The Magnificent

I recognize the fact that horrific events are transpiring every hour of every day, all over world.

In the darkest corners of the Earth, evil reveals itself in the form of the abuse, exploitation, torture and murder of the innocents. It sickens me to my core, as it does you, I’m sure, but I’d like to encourage you to not concentrate all your attention on the hideous and hostile.

I visit social media pages of friends and family who have ghastly post after appalling video after heart-breaking picture after gruesome story, and I get it: you want to bring attention to these vile offenders, these foul events. However, please be careful you don’t get so absorbed in the malevolent you forget to celebrate the magnificent.

There is splendor in the world, anxiously waiting to be discovered.

We must be conscious of wickedness, to be certain, but our spirits hunger for the celebration of tenderness and laughter.  Simpler to be engulfed in shadows than enveloped in light, it seems.

So don’t let that happen to you.

Rejoice in the laughter of a child, the beauty of a neighbor’s flower garden or the promotion of a nephew.  Reel in the joy of an elderly smile, a beloved classic movie or a song from yesteryear which resurrects fond memories.

Dare to gaze through dusty windows with the bliss and bewilderment of a toddler.

In short….LIVE….while there is still life left to live.

For someday it will not be so.

  1. I have been browsing online more thsn three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my view,
if all web owners and bloggers made goodd content as you did, the net will be much more useful than ever before.
