A Christmas Prayer to the Lord of Peace & War

“God, I pray for Your protection today. As members of Satan’s ISIS army have promised death and destruction this very day, post mighty, warrior angels at the doors of churches. Blanket those of us in peace and safety who seek to honor Your name by entering Your house on the day we have chosen to celebrate Your Son’s birthday.

“Be with the homeless today. Help us not be slaves to materialism. Rather, may we who can, do what we are able to feed and clothe the less fortunate.

“Keep Your hand over the depressed and distraught. I pray an extra measure of peace in their spirit today. Let the light of the Son break through cold, clouded hearts. May they discover laughter and joy in Your Name.

“Speak calm on the angry and disillusioned. Breathe truth on those who are convinced You don’t exist, or that You are not fighting for their soul.

“Be the Great Physician to those of us who live in chronic pain. Heal our bodies and our spirits. Help us to glorify You in all we do.

“I pray an extra measure of safety and strength for those whose job it is to serve, heal and protect. I ask You to station angels around all Firefighters, Police Officers, Paramedics, Doctors and Nurses who can’t be home with their families on this holiday. May they carry our their heroic duties in safety, and soon return home to those who love and miss them.

“Happy birthday, Jesus. We’ll see Ya soon…”

“Open up, O ancient gates, and let the King of Glory in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, invincible in battle. Yes, open wide the gates and let the King of Glory in.

Who is this King of Glory? The Commander of all of heaven’s armies! (From Psalm 24)”
