To the kid who doesn’t wanna leave the house because he’s being bullied and believes he’s too weak to fight back
The kid who is called names at school
The kid who hates herself
The kid who thinks he is greatly inferior to others
The kid who falls into depression
The kid who is then told he’s “too young to be depressed,” and “doesn’t even understand the meaning of the word”
The kid who is laughed at by everyone except her few, cherished friends (thank God for them)
The kid who reaches adulthood without even realizing it, due to such low self-esteem
The one who has no clue what he wants to do with his life
The one who feels fully overwhelmed at life, and fully underwhelmed at her ability to navigate it
The one who is already having chronic pain issues in their 20s
The one whose life seems to be going the opposite direction of what he pictured
The one who thinks her dreams will never come true
The one who continues to suffer chronic physical and/or emotional pain, year after year after decade after decade
The one who bounces between depression, anger, anxiety and despair
The one who honestly couldn’t tell you whether or not they’ll survive today
The one who feels like crying, screaming into the wind to just “LEAVE ME ALONE!!!”
The one whose emotional state crashes now and again, spiraling them into despair
To the broken…
I’ve been all these people, and after all that pain, agony and despair, I know only one thing:
Everything really will be okay.
Eventually…
“(Jesus) will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever” (Revelation 21:4).
So we live to fight another day!
Never give up…never give in…never surrender.
I LOVE THIS! I have been this person myself and life is truly different now.

Thanks, Terri! It was a revelation to me, after suffering chronic pain for 40 years, that God IS going to heal me… eventually. Now I don’t say “if” but “when” the Lord heals me. Instead of focusing on the present darkness, I try to keep my eyes on the future glory, when I lay all my trouble and agony at the feet of Jesus. Eternity is the great equalizer.
